THE VIKI SORRENTINO FOUNDATION, INC.

USING MUSIC TO CREATE A BRIGHTER FUTURE.

The Viki Sorrentino Foundation ("VSF") is a nonprofit organization that honors the beautiful life and voice of Viki Sorrentino.  VSF was founded by Nicole LoPiccolo to continue her sister’s mission to make a difference in the lives of individuals, communities, and cultures through music.

As a child, Viki studied flute, piano, and voice.  She continued her musical journey and by the time she was in college, Viki performed everywhere from Bellmore to NYC, to Europe and beyond.  Viki held her M.S. from LIU Post, where she studied music education and was a proud member of the Chamber Singers, Madrigal Singers, Vocal Jazz, and various choral groups.  As Viki matured into a multi-talented young woman, she began to foster and promote music education by teaching, directing, cantering, performing, and coaching the youth of our musical communities. Viki was the cantor at St. Barnabas Church in Bellmore for thirty years and her time there will live on.

Later in life, during Viki’s seasoned career as a kindergarten teacher at Grand Avenue Elementary School, she bridged the gap between her passion for education and music while she taught kindergarten and second-grade students.  She continued to intergrade music with education as she touched the lives of so many.  Viki truly believed music provided a brighter future and we here at VSF think so too!

VSF supports music education and musicians, and our operation fosters musical appreciation through education and exposure to those who would not otherwise have access to such musical opportunities.  At VSF, we set the stage for success by partnering with education and/or musical institutions to create awareness and perform shows to kick-start musical education and fulfill musical dreams which inspire the next generation of musicians.
